In this blog i am going to deconstruct five pictures, i will be doing this by using…

• shorthand communication – immediate, universal symbols, e.g. colour
• mise-en-scène – setting, props, costumes, makeup, figure expression
• anchorage
• denotation/connotation of meaning – preferred/oppositional reading
• visual language – composition, image construction (form, texture, representation)

In this picture you can see a bride and her father (possibly) having a dance with the background blured out in a black and white filter.

The texture of the picture is light and airy givig the illusion of a wedding and happy moment. there is no sharp defined edges making it have romatic and hazy feeling. the main focus of the picture is the girl and her father hugging, emphasisig the relationship of a father and daughter. the background is blured to focus on her moment with her father as it is special to her this choice of the photo could be down to her own personal perfernce to capture the moment. the framing is slightly to one side so you can still see other members of the wedding still in shot.

in this picture you can see a boy with his eye up to a fence in a black and white filter.

the texture to this photo is different to the other one it has more sharper and clearer edges but the same idea of focusing on the important message. this could be used as a cry for help for the black community as he has watery and meaningful eyes. the main thing that draws in the viewer is the eyes as you capture a reflection of someone. this picture shows the emotion of sad as he hopelessly leans on the fence waiting for something or someone.

in this picture you can see light colours in the background to give it a romantic feel, they did this to show the love between the married couple. again the photos show a clear focus on the main subjects of the photo,verything behind them and even in front of them has been blured to really focus our attention on the coule.
